TOOL ROOM
TOOL ROOM
2011
There are thirteen hammers in the tool room
Monkey wrenches of all sizes.
A tool box completely full of rusted objects.
An axe, a drill press, over a dozen types of saws
A drawer of screwdrivers.
And I wish I could use the level to see if I am level headed
One of the eight measuring tapes
To measure the distance between here and happiness.
The excess of caulk on my foundation
To keep me from leaking,
Fix all these cracks.
Use the files to smooth over my tough facade.
Rewire my whole brain with the box of electric supplies.
Put up some of the extra gutters to catch the over spill of emotions
And funnel it somewhere safely.
But all I can do is put on the safety glasses, gloves and welding hat.
