Roberts 1057 reel to reel tape recorder
Roberts 1057 reel to reel tape recorder
This gem was hidden in my late Grandfather Harry Tom Dickenson’s house since he bought it new in 1963.
The 1057 was a fairly expensive quarter-track stereo tape recorder with three speeds and a single 24-slot wave wound motor. A versatile machine, it had facilities for sound-on-sound, sound-with-sound and no less than four stereo headphone outputs for those intimate listening parties! The recorder had built in stereo speakers with reflector flaps, dual VU meters and automatic tape shut-off. It could be operated either vertically or horizontally.
