IMAGINATION
IMAGINATION
2018
The imagination is a powerful thing,
I seem to recall perfectly a kiss
You say didn’t happen.
I could have imagined how exactly you taste,
The shape and texture of your lips.
In my mind I experienced it.
I imagine you’ve imagined too.
Mirror images
Moving in sync
A dance you can’t hide your knowledge of
It’s as natural to you as the heave of a heavy sigh
Breath through lungs
Water to the parched and dry
Here we are ignoring the perfection of nature.
Staying uncomfortably rolled to one side
A turtle on its back.
When I kiss your fingers
I want you to open your fist
Go completely slack
To my adoration
And soak it in.
Showering caresses, explorative kisses,
You are still wearing your jacket and boots.
My imagination rides me
The way I know you want to.
Every delectable thought heats my coursing blood.
All your inner reasoning cannot temper me
Or slow my desire.
Yes, I am imagining, psychic
You, however can tell me no.
And with respect, I’ll withdraw into my own mind.
BUT I can’t help but over hear!
When I am sure I can stand, I try.
My legs go slack shaking
You stand admiring
Smiling
Knowing
Exactly what I was thinking.
The air has a crisp violence in it
The smell of fall
I smile a bit back
Knowing that every step forward I take
No matter what
Will seem like an attack.
I am aching for the day you try to get me back.
You have a well hidden sadistic streak.
I do want you to pin me down and make me squirm.
All the other women in the world
But trying to figure you out makes me tick.
We both feel balanced on the edge
To cut asunder
Or to fall in?
Love,
Can you imagine?
